Just Because ....

Blast from the Past ...

I recently joined Facebook and I am still learning how it actually truly works. I don't have a computer at home, so it is hard for me to check it. Well, a couple of weeks ago I was at my friend Michelle's house and I got on her computer. I checked my Facebook mail and I had a message from my best friend in middle school Carissa. We exchanged phone numbers and we talked for a little while. Talking to her brought back some really good memories. Her and I were attached at the hip. We use to dance all the time together. We use to make up dance routines. LOL! She was an awesome friend. I loved her mother to death too! Her mom was the sweetest person. I can still hear her mom's laugh. Carissa and I are both from West Virginia. I went with her a few times to West Virginia and she came with me. It was nice having a friend like that. Then in my Freshman year of high school, we moved to Goochland and we just lost touch. It was really weird talking to her because she didn't sound the same as I remember. LOL! We promised one another to at least talk once a month.

Another past moment. This morning I saw my step-dad Claybo turning onto the road I was turning off of. He looks the same. I really do miss that man! He was good to me. I miss that man's smile and laugh. Some good memories.

HOT Weekend .....

What a HOT weekend!! Friday after work, the kids and I played ball outside for a couple of hours. Lane spent the night with Chase. They had so much fun. Taylor and Lane practice pitching while Chase and Kami were batting. Then I decided to pitch to them all. There were a few times I almost got hit with the ball. LOL! But all in all we had a good time. Ronnie had to work late Friday night and he didn't get home until well after 1am.

Saturday, Kami had a game in Powhatan @ 9am. Chase had so much fun with Lane at the game. Usually he is bored and that is all I hear for the whole time. LOL! Lane kept him busy for me! Thanks Lane! LOL! Taylor and a couple of her friends were throwing the ball back and forth. I actually was able to enjoy watching Kami's game. They played their hearts out, but they lost the game. :) Taylor had a game @ 2pm vs. the other Cumberland team. It was burning up!! Taylor did AWESOME! In the last inning they put her in as catcher. We was burning up! They all did awesome. They won the game 15 to 11. That was their first game. They did really good. When I was cheering the girls on, I bruised my left hand really bad. I can't put a lot of pressure on my ring finger. Leave it up to me right?? LOL! After the game, I met Katina in Montpelier for Taylor to make her riding lesson @ 5pm. Taylor and Kami both ended up spending the night with her.

Sunday was another HOT day. We went to Katina's in the morning so Ronnie could finish the siding on the house that she lives in now. Chip and Katina are building another house (that is going to beautiful) and they have to update things around the house they live in now. Which by the way, I have loved the updates so far. :)

Busy Weekend ...

WOW! We had a real busy weekend!! Friday, Chase had a baseball game in Powhatan. We had to meet at Madison Ballfield @ 5:45. The boys got their uniforms for the game. We left Madison Ballfield around 6pm and went to Powhatan. The boys played an awesome game. I was so very proud of all of them. They lost the game 10 to 4. Powhatan is one of the best baseball leagues around, so like I said I am very proud of them. That was their first actual game against another county. We left the game around 9pm or so and headed home.

Saturday, Cumberland had Patriot's Day from 10am to 4pm. They had a bunch of booths and activities for the kids to do. Ronnie was in heaven because they had a mini car show. It was nice looking at all the antique cars. The kids didn't enjoy it because they wanted to go and do Sand Art. We left there around 2:15pm and headed to Beaverdam. We had to take Taylor to Katina's to get ready for her horse show on Sunday. When we got to the farm Katina, her friend Casey, Jessie, and Casey's daughter were on a trail ride. That was the first time Katina had him out on a trail ride. They both looked good!! :) Sorry, back to the weekend ... LOL! We left Beaverdam around 3:30pm and headed back to Cumberland because Chase had another game @ 6pm that evening. Chase's team played @ Madison Ballfield against Scottsville. Cumberland won 12 to 0. All of those boys did AWESOME!! So very proud of them.

Sunday, we left our house @ 6am and headed to Amber Hill for Taylor's horse show. Taylor looked beautiful!! She did good. She handled herself really well. I think Ronnie is the one that had the hardest time! LOL! He was nervous enough for all of us. LOL! Taylor came in 3rd place in all three classes. Jessie came in 1st in the first class and 2nd in the other two. Jessie was the Reserved Champion. I have pictures of them. Hopefully I can get them posted soon. OH! Kami is going to be showing in the next show on 5/17/09. I am excited about that. We didn't get home until 4:30pm. We were exhausted. I am still exhausted!!

Let's hope and pray that I have an easy weekend coming up. I am letting my house go and I can't stand when my house gets out of sorts!! :) All I know for this coming up weekend is that Taylor has a game @ 2pm and Kami has a game @ 9am in Powhatan.

Dentist Appointment

Yesterday I had off from work because I had to take the kids to the dentist. We arrived at the dentist @ 10:30am and didn't leave until 1pm. All the kids did wonderful. Chase and Kami each have a cavity and Taylor is cavity free. They all need to get sealant on their back teeth. They are going back on 5/1/09 to get all of this done. Chase was so nervous because Taylor had him thinking that he was going to need braces. Which he possibly will later but not right now. He still has a few baby teeth that he needs to lose first. They each received their own dental floss. Taylor and Kami both brushed and flossed their teeth before then went to bed last night. We will see how long the flossing lasts.

Weekend update and Ronnie's finger update

WOW! We had a really busy weekend! Saturday, Kami had 2 softball games against Amelia and Taylor had softball practice. Kami played the first game @ 12pm. They lost the game but they tried their best. They put Kami in as catcher, she did awesome! She was quick getting the ball and she wasn't afraid of that ball either. Kami wasn't able to play the second game because we had to leave and meet Katina in Short Pump for Jessie's birthday party. Taylor, Kami, and I left the ball field and headed to the birthday party. We went to see the new Hannah Montana movie. It was a really good movie. I enjoyed it!! :) I know the girls did too.

Sunday we went to church with Katina and my mom in Beaverdam. We ate an early lunch and then headed to Violet's. At Katina's we had ham, potato salad, and deviled eggs. At Violet's we had hot dog and hamburgers. That was nice change. The kids had fun there. Violet did an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. She also gave them their own baskets. The kids had a blast. It turned out to be a really nice day. We all had fun!! :) We were able to get home a reasonable time for me to be able to clean my house. It really needed it!! Ronnie cooked steaks on the grill for us. They were good!! :)

Ronnie went to the doctor this morning about his finger. The doctor told him that he is doing good wound care on his finger. He has to go back in on Friday for another check up on it. They want to start physical therapy on him probably Friday. I will let everyone know how his appointment goes on Friday.

Yesterday News ... Father & Son ...

Yesterday at work, Ronnie was welding at work and an amber fell onto his left ring finger. He went to the hospital and he has 2 to 3 degree burn on his finger. I thought that the doctor had to pull off his wedding ring, but I was wrong. Ronnie pulled his ring off himself. OUCH! He said that he can see all the way to the bone. He really messed his finger up. He has to go back to the doctor today to get the bandage changed and then he has to go every two days for a week due to possible infection. He has a big blue bandage on his finger. So needless to say Ronnie was pampered all night. He is in pain. I made him stop telling me what happened and what the doctor had to do because he was making me sick to my stomach just thinking about it. I am so glad that I don't have to see it! LOL!

Chase had his first baseball game last night. Both teams did awesome considering the amount of practices they have had due to the weather and field conditions. Chase's best friend Lane is on the team they played last night. The other Cumberland team tried Lane out as pitcher. Chase was up to bat and all Chase and Lane could do is smile at one another. It was cute! Chase and Lane play at Heather's a lot, so I guess Chase had the advantage on knowing how Lane pitches! LOL! They both did awesome. Now don't forget that Lane is Taylor's boyfriend. Taylor was running around playing the whole time during the game. But when Lane was pitching, Taylor sat down and watch her man pitch. LOL! It was cute! Heather asked her daughter Taylor to go to the truck to get her camera and Taylor Minter went but Taylor McLarn didn't want to go because she wanted to watch Lane. That was so cute!! :) Chase's team won the game 9 to 4. Both teams did AWESOME!! :)

DATE NIGHT

Today has been a nice day so far. Taylor had softball practice today @ 12pm. Ronnie took her to practice. Michelle and I went and got our hair cut by Lori. Lori is Heather's best friend. I LOVE MY HAIR!!! We are going to make another hair appointment about in a month to get highlights done. :) I can't wait!! Tonight Ronnie and I are having a date night. My sister is watching the children for us. We are going to dinner and then going to see Fast the Furious with Michelle and Aaron. I am soooo excited. We haven't had a date night in forever. I also get to spend time with Michelle! I love my Chell Chell!! :) Well, we have to start getting ready to go to dinner.

TIRE TROUBLE YESTERDAY ...

Yesterday I was driving Ronnie's car because he wanted to fix my back passenger door and put my front license plate on my truck for me. I got to Heather's around 4:30 to pick up Taylor and Kami after school. I go inside and chit chat with Heather some and I went to leave and Lane said, Uh Ronica you aren't going any where. You have a flat tire!! Of course I was a little aggravated because Chase is in an After School program and he gets dropped off at home around 5:15 or so. Ronnie had a little tiny air compressor in his car that you plug into the lighter and it works. This process takes an extremely long time. Heather used Kevin's big air compressor and that baby was filled up within seconds. LOL! HEATHER TO THE RESCUE!! :) I made it home in time to get Chase off the bus. Needless to say, Chase didn't make it practice yesterday. Thanks Lane for catching the flat tire, because knowing me, I would of just got in the car without even noticing the flat.
